Client
Will Hillenbrand, children's book illustrator
Please don't tell Will this, but I found it really intimidating at first designing for him, even though he is one of the nicest people on the planet. Nationally acclaimed and a well-established award winning illustrator, I got pretty nervous when he called to discuss redesigning his web site.
During the time we worked on this very colaborative process (which did take a while to finish ... this is a BIG site) I got to relax, and just get to business. Will was receptive to suggestions, and our results tended to be very much a creative blend.
To start, Will was looking for a refresh to his old web site. After reviewing that site and meeting Will and his assistant, my goals were:
- For this site to look more WILL (to keep his art as prominent and pervasive as possible).
- To streamline the navigation. There is a lot of information here, which is great, but things needed to be easier to find.
- To make it easy for his assistant to later update the site, using Adobe Dreamweaver as a content management system.
